Manchester United have been linked most regularly with Miguel Gutierrez, and the Reds are definitely on the lookout for someone in that position.

United’s hierarchy are eager to impress in their first summer window in control of operations, but other clubs in England have also been tracking his progress.

The 22-year-old defender has started 27 La Liga games this season, all the while lending a helping hand in Girona‘s unexpected challenge at the top end of the table.

His decision making and comfortability in high pressure situations has been a key asset across this season, and as a result, he is proving a coveted target for Europe’s elite ahead of the summer window.

Despite the links, sources are indicating that a transfer to Manchester United does not seem likely at the moment, but Chelsea are also very much in the market for a new left-back and are understood to have been keeping an eye on him.

So too Arsenal, who are said to admire Gutierrez – the Gunners have shown interest in uncovering more details on his potential price-point and availability.

Girona are part of the multi-club ownership model who also head up Manchester City, but clubs in mainland Europe, especially Real Madrid, have to be considered as a threat to him landing in England.

Gutierrez came through the Madrid youth system before joining Girona in 2022 – but Madrid have a buy-back clause that also means they get first refusal on him. If another club makes an offer, they get the chance to match it.

Their situation may be impacted by the signing of Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich, if a deal does indeed materialise.

Sources believe Gutierrez is likely to make a transfer this summer and his situation is going to become a talking point ahead of the next window.

Big clubs in England are also keeping tabs on the future of Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Speculation around his future has begun and Liverpool are likely to be in that mix, as well as the other clubs mentioned for Gutierrez.
