The first leg of Inter and Atletico Madrid’s Champions League tie took place at the San Siro and once again the fans and legendary stadium delivered on a Champions League night.

It wasn’t just fans of the two clubs and the world’s media watching the game, Kanye West was in attendance to watch last year’s beaten finalists.

Kanye and co watched on as the first half offered much promise but no goals. As many expected, it was Serie A league leaders who took the game to Atletico as they look to make it to back-to-back finals. Their dominance in the game showed in the statistics, with the La Liga side failing to register a shot on target.
Despite all their dominance and chances in the game, it looked like Inter would fail to make home advantage count and take a shaky 0-0 draw to Madrid.
However, in the 79th minute, Lautaro Martínez found himself running through on goal with just the ‘keeper to beat. His shot was saved but fell to former Stoke City and West Ham United striker, Arnautovic, who slotted the ball home to send the home crowd wild.
Inter pushed on for a second, but the game finished 1-0. They’ll take their slim lead to Madrid as they look to progress to the next round and further.
For Atletico, they’ll be happy they’re just the one goal behind and will be confident with their home crowd backing they can overturn the deficit.
