Karim Benzema Next Club Odds: Frenchman Rumoured With Lyon Return

The former Real Madrid star signed for Al-Ittihad in the summer of 2023 and has contributed to 17 goals in 20 appearances (12G+5A).

However, Benzema has reportedly become unsettled in Saudi Arabia and is looking for a return to Europe this January.

Ligue 1 side, Lyon, are said to be interested in signing the 36-year-old striker – which would see the Frenchman return to the club where he began his footballing career.

From 2004-2009, the France international contributed to 93 goals in 148 appearances (66G+27A) and has been priced at 9/4 to re-join his former side.

Benzema has also been rumoured with a move to the Premier League, as Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all on the hunt for a prolific striker.

At 7/2, Arsenal are one of the more likely suitors to sign Benzema this January, as Gabriel Jesus continues to struggle with injuries.

Chelsea are also on the lookout for a number nine, as Nicolas Jackson continues to develop, which can also be said for Manchester United striker, Rasmus Hojlund.

At 11/2, Chelsea have been priced as a more likely destination than the Red Devils, who sit on the price of 10/1 – due to United’s current inability to sign players for FFP reasons.

Another one of Karim Benzema’s former sides are in the running, as Real Madrid have been given an outside chance at 20/1 – after the Frenchman won five Champions League titles with Los Blancos.
