Tajikistan 2023 Asian Cup Preview
Tajikistan go into the 2023 Asian Cup as huge outsiders at odds of 200/1 with football betting apps to win the tournament. This comes as no surprise, given the fact they are making their Asian Cup debut this year with their first appearance in the tournament in their history.
UK betting sites consequently don’t give Tajikistan much of a chance of even progressing from Group A. They are in a group with Lebanon, China and host nation and reigning Asian Cup winners Qatar.
The best online gambling sites have made it clear they don’t feel Tajikistan are any real threat at this year’s tournament. However, they are unbeaten in six international games, which includes five wins and one draw.
Although on paper they are a weak nation, they have a real togetherness and team bond which is priceless in big football tournaments like this. ‘The Crowns’ will be quietly confident of making the knockout stages on their Asian Cup debut.
Tajikistan Player To Watch
Tajikistan have a very young and inexperienced squad, making it difficult to pinpoint one player to watch. However, Shahrom Samiev is certainly one Tajikistan player to keep an eye on at the 2023 Asian Cup.
The 22-year-old plays his football for Moldova Super Liga side Milsami, who finished third in the league this year. Samiev is worth the most money of any player in the Tajikistan squad, and looks to be a real star for ‘The Crowns’ going forward.
He has played 22 games for his country, netting on seven occasions. He has scored on his last three appearances for his country, and looks to be the form player for Tajikistan heading into the 2023 AFC Asian Cup. Certainly a player to keep an eye on.
