An inspired performance from Ilkay Gundogan saw the Cityzens turn around a 2-0 deficit and clinch a consecutive league title.

2019/20: This season was heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and Mohamed Salah lead Liverpool to their first Premier League title.

2018/19: Manchester City clinched the Premier League title this season, despite trailing behind Liverpool during the festive period.

2017/18: A common theme here, as Manchester City won the league this season, but this time Guardiola’s side were top of the table at Christmas.

Arsenal are once again on a title charge this season, after they came so close last season and Mikel Arteta’s side have been near faultless this season.

Beating both teams from Manchester and picking up a point against Chelsea/Spurs, the Gunners have asserted dominance over the teams around them.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have put themselves back in the title mix after a disappointing season last year, as the Reds finished fifth.

Liverpool have suffered just one defeat this season, losing to Tottenham Hotspur in controversial style as VAR wrongly ruled out Luis Diaz’s goal for offside.

Manchester City are looking to win their fourth consecutive league title this season and have fared well over the years despite rarely being top at Christmas.

Pep Guardiola’s side have won the league three times despite not being top of the table on the 25th December, including a miraculous triumph over Liverpool in 2021.

Aston Villa have been the surprise story this season, as Unai Emery’s side are within touching distance of first place. The Villains are also unbeaten at home, picking up wins over Manchester City and Arsenal.

Ange Postecoglou has hit the ground running at Tottenham Hotspur despite a host of injuries and could be a dark horse to win the title this year.
