Burnley vs Everton (0-2) Report: Everton secure Fourth Win In A Row

Everton looked bright from the off at Turf Moor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin went close for the visitors first, but his header was saved sharply down low by James Trafford.

It was Belgian midfielder Amadou Onana who broke the deadlock for the visitors, as he rose highest in the box to nod home a Jack Harrison corner from close range.

Everton didn’t take long to double their advantage at Turf Moor, with Michael Keane taking the ball closer and closer to the box before drilling a shot to test James Trafford down low.

Trafford was only able to parry the ball directly back into the path of Keane, who placed the ball just out of the keeper’s reach to hand the Toffees a two goal cushion.

Everton went the closest in a second half that was void of many clear cut opportunities, as Keane nearly got his second of the game following a goalmouth scramble.

The Everton defender latched onto a loose ball inside the box which ricocheted off the post, before Vitinha’s clearance hit the woodwork and was cleared to safety.

Sander Berge also hit the post in the second half for the hosts, with his first time effort from close range crashing off the bar to deny any sort of hope for Burnley.

Despite having the majority of possession through the game, Burnley could never quite fashion any clear cut chances which cost them all the points at Turf Moor.

The two first half goals were enough to seal yet another victory for the Toffees, which took them seven points clear of the relegation places despite their point deduction earlier this season.

What Next For Everton & Burnley?

The win for Everton is their fourth victory in a row, with 12 points sending them seven points clear of the Premier League relegation zone with an EFL Cup quarter final against Fulham coming up on Tuesday.
