Lazio travel to the Spanish capital for their final Champions League group match of the campaign against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night, with both sides knowing that a victory will secure a first place finish in Group E.
Atleti hold a slender one point lead at the top of the group over their Serie A counterparts, and come into the clash off the back of five wins in their last six. This includes their last European outing, in which they overcame Feyenoord 3-1 away in Rotterdam.
In comparison, Lazio have suffered just one defeat in their last six matches across all competitions – a record that is made up by two draws and three victories. Their last Champions League match is also included in this run, as they comfortably beat Scottish Premiership side Celtic at the Olimpico last month.
