Aston Villa host Polish side Legia Warsaw in match day five of six in the Conference League. With the top of the group clash near, here’s the latest Aston Villa injury update.
Unai Emery’s side have continued their impressive form from last season, sitting fourth in the Premier League and set to reach the knockout stages of the Conference League.
Villa go into the game against Legia Warsaw on a high after beating Spurs 2-1 on Sunday afternoon. They came out of the game without any new injuries, unlike their opposition, who’ve had another player added to their injury list.
“Retrospectively, he should be banned.”
“It was so high on the shin. It was awful.”

Aston Villa Injury Update
Despite not picking up any new injuries, there are some players that are still out for Villa, according to the latest Aston Villa injury update.
Nicolo Zaniolo missed Sunday’s game after picking up an injury while on international duty with Italy. The injury isn’t expected to be a long term one, but Thursday’s game might come too soon for the Italian, who is on loan at Villa Park.
The other Aston Villa injury news is that Bertrand Traore, Emiliano Buendia and central defender Tyrone Mings are still out. The trio won’t be part of Thursday night’s game.
What Result Do Aston Villa Need?
Aston Villa are currently on nine points, as are Legia Warsaw. The two are joint top, with both other teams in the group on three points.
A draw would be enough to send both teams through to the knockout stages. However, Emery will want his team to extend their winning run to four games.
Emery will also be thinking about finishing top of their group to make sure their run in the knockout stage is more favourable.
With that in mind, don’t expect to see many changes by Emery with the top spot in their group on the line.
