“Heavy Metal” Searle has been in good form and should be able to make a winning start in this competition. He hit 12 180s across his four matches at last week’s Grand Slam of Darts and has what it takes to overcome Krcmar.

Searle was the runner up in this competition in 2021 and also made it to the third round last year. Searle has taken his game to new heights in the last 18 months and also picked up a win on the floor this season taking home Players Championship 1. “Rocky” has took the PDC by storm since his arrival on the tour and made his first major quarter-final last week in the Grand Slam. The Northern Irishman hit some big finishes along the way to that last-eight run whilst smashing in the 180s at the same time, hitting 22 maximum scores in five games.

Rock was agonisingly denied a chance to play in his first major semi-final too, when losing 16-15 to James Wade in a last leg shootout and the 22-year-old should take all the beating here and do it in style.

17:00 – Jonny Clayton vs Stephen Burton: Clayton To Win @ Highest Checkout @ 4/5

Jonny Clayton is arguably one of the best combo finishers in the PDC and just under even money for him to win and hit the highest checkout is great value and worth adding in any accumulator.

The “Ferret” has not had the best year so far and is yet to live up to his heroics of the 2021 season. However, he should be able to get off to a winning start in this year’s Players Championship Finals. He has been performing well on the floor and won PC 12 earlier on in the year.

Clayton can progress here and put his finishing skills to the test in a game where he has been drawn well against Stephen Burton.
