SportsLens price-setters have been hard at work valuing the future of Belgian striker and former Manchester United star, Romelu Lukaku – which suggest Roma will face stiff competition from Saudi Arabia.

Romelu Lukaku appears to be back on track following an underwhelming few years, as he is currently the leading goalscorer for Jose Mourinho’s Roma.

However, the 30-year-old is still signed with Chelsea and his loan move is set to end in June next year – leaving many to question his future.

Romelu Lukaku Next Club Odds: Roma Favoured To Sign Their Star Loanee But Saudi Arabia Priced As Likely Destination

The Belgian international has been on a whirlwind since bursting onto the scene with West Brom, playing for Manchester United, Inter and Chelsea in a matter of years.

After an impressive 2020-21 campaign with Inter Milan, Lukaku resigned for Chelsea in a staggering deal worth up to £97.5m. However, his time at Stamford Bridge was far from impressive and he returned to Inter on loan.

The second spell at Inter was not as successful as the first, meaning he was not signed on a permanent deal and eventually signed for Roma on another loan deal from Chelsea.

Scoring six goals in 10 Serie A matches for Roma so far, Lukaku has looked like the unstoppable force he once was – which may suggest why Roma are heavy favourites to sign the Belgian permanently at 9/4.

However, moves to Saudi Arabia are becoming increasingly more common as time goes by, with Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo and Jordan Henderson all joining on lucrative deals.

At 3/1, the possibility of Lukaku doing the same could be an interesting option, especially with the rumours in the summer.

Jose Mourinho is said to be leaving the club at the end of the season, which may play into the hands of all Saudi Arabian clubs when negotiating with the Belgian striker.

Aston Villa are a heavy outsider to land the former West Brom player at 25/1, however, Unai Emery’s side look strong this year and Europa League qualification could entice Lukaku to join next season.

Paris Saint-Germain are another far-fetched option at 40/1, after recently signing Randal Kolo Muani for their striking position – however, a Kylian Mbappe exit could force an attacking signing.
