Jermaine Jenas continues to gain recognition as a TV star after a stellar Premier League career. But what is the former Spurs player worth?

Jermaine Jenas Net Worth

The former Newcastle player has an estimated net worth of £2 million (per, CelebrtityNetWorths) and this figure will continue to rise as Jenas lands more jobs on television.

Starting his career at Nottingham Forest, the midfielder quickly made a name for himself in the Premier League and debuted as a 17-year-old in January 2001.

In 2002, after scoring four goals in 33 appearances for the Trees, Jenas signed for Newcastle in a deal that set the Magpies back £5 million – becoming the second most expensive teenager in history.

During his opening season at St James Park, he helped Newcastle qualify for the Champions League and was awarded with the PFA Young Player Of The Year award.

His Newcastle career spanned from 2002-2005, earning 13 England caps in the process. However, his love for Newcastle started to dwindled comparing the city to a ‘fish bowl’ and in 2005 the Magpies sold Jenas to Spurs on deadline day.

Tottenham signed the midfielder for £7 million and the Englishman continued his impressive spell as a box-to-box stallion.  – helping Spurs qualify for the Europa League and win the League Cup.

However, injuries began to haunt Jenas and in 2011 he was loaned out to Aston Villa where his time on the sidelines increased with a list of niggling injuries.

Towards the end of his career, the now TV presenter signed for his boyhood club Nottingham Forest on a month loan deal before joining QPR in 2013.

After three-years at Loftus Road, Jenas officially announced his retirement on January 7th 2016 and began a career in TV.

He began on ITV’s coverage of the Europa League in 2014 and then became a regular member on the emerging BT Sport in November 2014.

In 2020, Jenas landed the roles as a co-host on popular BBC show, The One Show, alongside Alex Jones and became one of the first footballers to land a mainstream role outside of sport.

Jermaine Jenas Salary

His contract at Spurs was his most lucrative, as Jermaine Jenas picked up an estimated £45,000 a week while playing at White Hart Lane.

In 2011, during his loan spell with Aston Villa, the midfielder was heavily criticised for his availability and was deemed to be earning £18,000 per minute on the pitch – as he only played 108 minutes across three matches (DailyStar).

Whist at QPR, Jenas was reportedly one of the highest paid players, as the Englishman earned an estimated £40,000 a week.

In July 2023, the BBC pundits/presenters were the topic of debate, as their annual salary was released. Jenas is reportedly earning around £220,000 for his work on Match Of The Day, the FA Cup, Premier League and World Cup.

This is far less than Match Of The Day host, Gary Lineker, who is reportedly earning over £1 million a year and Alan Shearer who is nearer the £600,000 mark.

His salary as a co-host on The One Show has not been disclosed, however, after the BBC earnings were released it’s safe to say Jeans is earning near the £200,000 mark.
