Sheikh Jassim attempted to takeover the club but ultimately couldn’t agree to a deal with the current owners, the Glazer family. With the Qatari businessman pulling out, Ratliffe has a clear shot at investing in the club and is now the front-runner to take over the club with UK betting sites.
Ratcliffe was previously among the bidders to buy Chelsea, making an initial attempt in 2019 before reigniting his interest in 2022, when the club was put up for sale. However, he ultimately lost out to Todd Boehly.
