Playing Career
Thierry Henry signed for Arsenal from Serie A side, Juventus, in August 1999 for an estimated fee of £11 million and his career in the Premier League cemented his place as one of the best in the division’s history.
During his time in north London, the Frenchman scored 228 goals and contributed wth 103 in assists in 377 games – a whopping 331 G+A in 377 appearances.
He was the league’s top scorer for three consecutive seasons (03/04, 04/05, 05/06) and won two Premier Leagues/Fa Cups.
Henry also picked up the Player Of The Year Award in England three times and Arsenal’s POTY twice – a record that is yet to be broken by a Gunners player.
His biggest contract in London came in 2006, when he became the highest paid player in the league – earning around £112,000 a week.
