Arsenal’s Champions League preparations have been hit with another injury blow, as Eddie Nketiah was absent from Tuesday’s training session ahead of their Group B clash with Sevilla on Wednesday.
The Gunners are currently top of their Champions League group with six points after wins against PSV and Sevilla. If Lens can beat PSV, a win for Arsenal on Wednesday would secure their spot in the last 16 with two matches to spare.
However, Arsenal will welcome Sevilla to the Emirates Stadium with a sense of physical and mental fatigue, following consecutive defeats to West Ham United and Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup and Premier League, respectively.
Injuries have further compounded their woes, with Jurrien Timber, Emile Smith Rowe, Thomas Partey, and Gabriel Jesus all unavailable.
Martin Odegaard’s availability also remains uncertain due to a hip issue that kept him out of the defeat at St James’ Park.
During a training session at London Colney on Tuesday, Eddie Nketiah was notably absent from the group. The England international sustained an injury in the weekend’s match against Newcastle, and he will face a late fitness test ahead of the Sevilla clash.

Who Will Start Up Front For Arsenal In Nketiah’s Absence?
Nketiah has yet to start a Champions League game this season, but with Jesus sidelined, he would have been a likely starter for Wednesday’s match. However, with Nketiah now under the care of the medical team, Arsenal face the possibility of being without both of their recognised centre-forwards.
Manager Mikel Arteta must juggle things around now, and it is likely that either Kai Havertz or Leandro Trossard will lead the line for the meantime.
Sevilla have their own injury troubles, though. Four-time Champions League winner Sergio Ramos will miss the match due to a calf problem. Centre-back Marcao is also sidelined with a knee problem, while World Cup-winning left-back Marcos Acuna has withdrawn due to a hamstring issue.
