Manchester City beat Young Boys in Switzerland to continue their perfect start to their Champions League defence. Manchester City Champions League winner odds 2/1.

Pep Guardiola’s side continued their 100% start to their Champions League defence by beating Young Boys 3-1.

The hosts held strong in the first half. They were able to keep City at bay and went into half-time with their heads held high.

Despite City’s array of attacking quality, it was Manuel Akanji who opened the scoring for Manchester City. His goal in the 48th minute looked to open the floodgates. However, it was Young Boys who got the second, and their equaliser, through Meschak Elia.

15 minutes later, Manchester City were back ahead through Erling Haaland. Surprisingly it was his first Champions League goal of the season.

It wasn’t long till he had his second of the campaign. Haaland wrapped up the three points late in the second half.

Pep’s side are favourites for the trophy yet again. After last year’s success they got the pressure off their backs by ending the long wait to win it.

Now, with the same core and some clever additions to the squad, they’re ready to make it back-to-back wins.

The bookies obviously fancy them to go and do it again. Manchester City Champions League winner odds are at 2/1, some way ahead of Bayern at 9/2.

They’ll be wary of who they might draw in the knockout stages, but Pep will fancy his side to beat anyone.

It’s hard to see past Haaland firing City to their second Champions League trophy.
