Chelsea take on Arsenal on Saturday evening but it’s actually been a while since they beat the Gunners at home in the Premier League.
You’d have to go all the way back to August 2018 to find the last time Chelsea beat Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. Unai Emery was in charge of Arsenal whilst Maurizio Sarri was at Chelsea.
It was a great first twenty minutes for Chelsea as they went 2-0 up thanks to goals from Pedro and Alvaro Morata. That lead didn’t last until half-time with Arsenal coming back through quickfire goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi.
Chelsea left it late but ended up snatching all three points with a strike from Marcos Alonso.
Arsenal enter Saturday’s Premier League match in second place and can go top depending on the goal difference by Monday night when Spurs play Fulham. As for Chelsea, they’ll be wanting to enter the top half of the table.
