Arsenal have been told to sign out-of-favour Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku by Darren Bent.

Lukaku is on-loan with Inter but is expected to return to Stamford Bridge, with the Belgian’s future up in the air after the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as Blues manager.

But former Tottenham striker Bent has claimed Lukaku could be a bigger hit in front of goal than Gunners striker Gabriel Jesus.

Bent said: “Yes. Without a doubt. He would get more goals than Gabriel Jesus.

“What Jesus did at Arsenal (this season) was brilliant, but there were times he would frustrate me because he wasn’t in the box

“There were times the ball would flash across the box and no one was in there – he’s (Jesus) on the edge of the box. But I know Lukaku is in there”.

In the summer of 2021, Chelsea signed Lukaku for a record fee of £97.5m from Inter Milan. The striker did not impress that season only scoring 15 goals in 44 appearances.

The following season he returned to Inter Milan on a season long loan where he currently has registered just 18 goals in 39 matches.

Lukaku will play in Inter Milan’s Champions League final against Manchester City on Saturday 10th June but it is understood he will return to Chelsea in the summer as a ‘no buy option’ in the loan deal was agreed upon.

Chelsea have recently appointed Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager and it’s up to the Argentinian whether he decides to keep the out-of-form striker. Chelsea only managed to find the back of the net 38 times in the Premier League this season.

This 30-year-old also had a disappointing spell at Manchester United with 42 goals in 96 appearances. The striker cost the Red Devils £75m back in 2017.

Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus has had a competent season at the Emirates following a £45m deal from Manchester City. The striker scored 11 goals in all competitions despite picking up a knee injury in the Qatar World Cup that saw the Brazilian on the sidelines for 5 months.
