Two players have scored the most goals in the European Championships (nine), but we could have as many as three players in double digits by the end of Euro 2020.
Michel Platini leads the European Championship goal scoring lists with an astounding nine goals in five games from his star turn in 1984. Cristiano Ronaldo is right next to him, albeit with nine goals in 21 games across four tournaments.
Ronaldo will have a chance to make it to double figures this summer. Two other forwards who are playing in the last Euros of their careers could join them, with Antoine Griezmann on six from seven (2016) and Zlatan Ibrahimovic also on six from 13 (last four tournaments).
Platini holds the record for most goals scored in a tournament (nine in 1984), with Griezmann’s six in 2016 in second. Kylian Mbappe is favoured to set a new record at the Euros this summer.
