Matt Chapman Tips – Friday 8th April 2022
Matt Chapman’s Grand National Festival Aintree Day 2 Horse Racing Tips
1.45 – Highway One O Two (EW) @ 16/1 with 888Sport
2.20 – Jonbon @ 1/1 with 888Sport
2.55 – L’Homme Presse @ 11/8 with 888Sport
3.30 – Saint Calvados (EW) @ 8/1 with 888Sport
4.05 – Senior Citizen (EW) @ 12/1 with 888Sport
4.40 – Crystal Glory @ 7/1 with 888Sport
5.15 – Severance @ 8/1 with 888Sport
2.20 Betway Top Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 1) – JONBON @ 1/1 with 888Sport
Matt Chapman says he will be extremely surprised if Jonbon doesn’t win comfortably here for Aidan Coleman and Nicky Henderson.
The expensive relation to racing royalty Douvan was unbeaten until being comprehensively defeated by Constitution Hill in the Supreme at Cheltenham last month.
If ridden with more resistance today, Chapman believes Jonbon is fare too good for the rest of the field here in the second race of the day from Aintree and the first of ITV Racing’s coverage.
2.55 Mildmay Novices’ Chase (Grade 1) – L’HOMME PRESSE @ 11/8 with 888Sport
Perhaps one of the performances of the Cheltenham Festival saw L’Homme Presse destroy the field and scamper clear of Ahoy Senor in the Browns Advisory.
Chapman believes he can see off Bravemansgame will no issues this time around and is expecting a big ride from L’Homme Presse with Charlie Deutsch on board for Venetia Williams.
Clearly a superstar horse who will only continue to get better.
4.40 Sefton Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 1) – CRYSTAL GLORY @ 7/1 with 888Sport
Crystal Glory was no match for Hillcrest on his last outing at Haydock, and was defeated at Newcastle the time before that.
However, Chapman believes he looks like a much stronger stayer for Nicky Richards and that means this extended three miler should suit him and Sean Quinlan on the saddle.
Matt Chapman thinks Crystal Glory has a great chance and that the conditions are also playing into his favour.
