Celtic winger Ryan Christie has showered heaps of praise on teammate Odsonne Edouard.
Christie, who has been outstanding this season for the Hoops, has said that the French striker is a hot favourite for winning the Celtic player of the year award.
The 22-year-old has been in superb form this season for Celtic, bagging 28 goals for the Bhoys in all competitions. He has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Newcastle United being one of the clubs reportedly keen to sign the £30m-rated striker.
Recently, Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has suggested that Edouard is certain to leave the Scottish champions this summer and that Celtic would find it hard to keep hold of him. He said that Everton would be a perfect club for him.
Christie has hailed him as an ‘unbelievable’ player and said that he comes up with ‘ridiculous’ stuff in training. Edouard has earned a reputation at Celtic for being a big-match player, and his composure in front of goal has been simply brilliant.
The French striker has got tremendous potential, and Christie has predicted that he will get better and better with age. Edouard had suggested before that he is happy at Celtic, but chances are high that he could be heading to the Premier League this summer.
“But training with him every day, some of the stuff that he comes out with is ridiculous.
“The scary thing about Odsonne is that he’s still only 22. There is so much potential to unlock yet. He will just keep getting better and better.
“I’ve noticed this season that there are elements of his game improving all the time. His hold-up play is getting better and that’s a big help when we are away from home and need the ball to stick.”
