Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez this summer.
According to Gianluca di Marzio, sporting director Fabio Paratici wants to bring the 25-year-old to the Premier League.
Spurs have made an initial enquiry and are likely to step up their efforts to sign the Uruguayan international this week.
Nandez was outstanding for Cagliari last season and could be a superb acquisition for the Premier League club.
Tottenham definitely need more depth in central midfield, and Nandez has the talent to push for a place in the starting XI.
He is a hard-working player who will contribute to the offensive side of the game and help out the team defensively.
Nandez can operate in multiple roles across midfield, and his versatility will be a bonus for Nuno Espirito Santo.
Tottenham are not the only Premier League club looking to sign the player, with reports on Saturday claiming that Leeds United are interested in him.
The Whites have resumed contact with Cagliari regarding a summer move and have initiated contact with the midfielder’s entourage.
Both clubs would represent an exciting move for the Uruguayan international, and it would be no surprise to see him in the Premier League this season.
