Real Madrid cruised to a comfortable 5-1 win at Tenerife on Saturday. They are top of the table for now (Barcelona plays the late match tonight) never trailed in the match.
The goals came from Gonzalo Higuain, Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Raul. Higuain scored the first two, in the 29th and 42nd minute to give Real Madrid a 2-0 lead at halftime. Tenerife had hope early in the second as they cut the lead to 2-1.
That’s as close as they would get because Real Madrid pulled away with goals from Kaka (48), Cristiano Ronaldo (80), and Raul (90). Each team will have a break in the midweek as there will be international friendlies and resume La Liga play next weekend.
