According to the Scottish Sun, Celtic interim manager Neil Lennon could hand Karomoko Dembele his first-team debut against Hearts on Sunday.
The 16-year-old was initially set to link up with the England under-17 team for the European Championships in Ireland, but has since been pulled out in order to prepare for the final Scottish Premiership game of the campaign this weekend.
The sensational Dembele is widely regarded as the Hoops’ brightest prospect having played for the under-20s as a 13-year-old, and he is set to be named on the bench for the Hearts clash.
England are already out of the Euros under-17 following a draw against France and defeat to the Netherlands, and Dembele will be looking to put the disappointment of missing out on the tournament behind him by putting in a great performance against Hearts on Sunday.
The teen wonder has represented both Scotland and England at youth level, and his international future remains undecided with both sides keen to have him represent them at senior level.
It remains to be seen if Dembele will be part of Celtic’s first-team plans for next season, but he will most likely get an opportunity to prove himself this weekend, and the Paradise Park faithful will be excited to see one of their own make his senior team bow.
