Striker hopes Manchester United will pay £43m to complete transfer

Radamel Falcao

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is hopeful that Radamel Falcao will get back to his old best now that he has claimed his first goal for United to clinch victory over Everton.

The Colombian striker joined United in the summer on loan from Monaco and has wished to remain at the club beyond the end of the season. Manchester United will have to pay around £43m if they want to sign Falcao permanently and the former Porto striker hopes they do so.

“Me and my family are happy here, and we would like to stay for many years at Manchester United,” Falcao told MUTV.

United were far from convincing against Everton and Louis van Gaal has told his players they are still playing below their levels he requires.

However, the manner of the victory would have given immense confidence to the side, as Falcao’s strike lifted United into top four. United manager has praised David de Gea for his outstanding goal keeping and admitted that the Spain international was ultimately the difference between the teams.
