CATTERICK 2.50
BONNE VITESSE (system – sire Fast Company, hurdles, good to soft or softer going)
Progeny of the sire Fast Company have a 30 from 223 record when racing over hurdles on good to soft or softer going for a profit of £28.30 to a £1 level stake at SP. The four-year-olds are ten from 71 for a profit of £63.60 and BONNE VITESSE, who failed to settle when only fifth at Carlisle last time, might be able to bounce back on this sharper track.
CATTERICK 3.25
DA VINCI HAND (system – chasers at Catterick, won a Catterick chase last time out)
Horses who won over fences at Catterick on their latest start often follow up when competing in another Catterick chase. Since the beginning of 2010, 15 of the 37 qualifiers won (40.5%) and backing them blind would have returned a profit of £17.79 to a £1 level stake at SP. DA VINCI HAND bolted up over a shorter trip here last week and can defy his penalty.
KEMPTON 6.30
COTAI STAR (system – Archie Watson newcomers on Polytrack)
Archie Watson does well with racecourse debutants on the all-weather, especially on Polytrack. He’s won with 25 of the 88 qualifiers (28.4%), whether two-year-olds or three-year-olds, for a profit of £34.71 to a £1 level stake at SP. COTAI STAR looks a likely type on paper for this 7f auction maiden and can make a winning debut under Hollie Doyle.
KEMPTON 7.00
ALLOWED (system – Ralph Beckett & Rob Hornby combination)
Trainer Ralph Beckett has a great record when using jockey Rob Hornby, scoring with 72 of the 372 qualifiers (19.4% strike-rate) for a profit of £111.22 to a £1 level stake at SP. ALLOWED has been ridden to victory by Hornby twice already this year and, though up 8lb for last month’s course and distance win, can complete her hat-trick.
