They went too quick up front in the 1m2f Pontefract maiden handicap won by DANZA DELLA LUNA on July 15^th and the pace collapsed, setting it up for the closers. She did win by seven lengths but an 8lb rise looks harsh and her patient style is unlikely to be so effective in a small-field contest at Nottingham. Sell at 18 in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market. Fixed odds punters might want to split stakes between pace angles CAVE DIVER and REEL ROSIE.

BRIGHTON 4.20

Bill Turner’s MILLY MONDY MANDY finished well beaten when making her debut on Southwell’s Fibresand in August of last year but showed more encouragement when a 150-1 ninth of 11 at Chelmsford just 11 days later. She broke smartly from her poor wide draw (stall 10 of 11) and pressed Mark Johnston’s Silver Kitten, the 5-2 favourite, for the early lead. She was still bang there at the two-furlong pole but weakened to finish ninth, just over ten lengths behind the winner. She would have needed her recent outing at Southwell on her return from an 11-month break and progeny of Hellvelyn tend to improve markedly when switched from the all-weather to turf. She’s been found a weak opening for her grass debut and is worth chancing at a big price. She’s 18-1 with Spreadex or can be bought at 5 in the 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Back MILLY MOLLY MANDY in Brighton 4.20
