Manchester United will face Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League Match Day 5, Group A tie at the Bay Arena on Wednesday where a victory for the visitors will guarantee a spot in the next round of this competition.

The Red Devils have recovered nicely after a stuttering start to their domestic campaign. They are unbeaten in their last 10 games but are sitting in sixth place in the league with 21 points, seven points behind league leaders Arsenal.

They are heading into this match on the back of up a heart-breaking 2-2 draw against Cardiff City on Sunday. However, their European campaign has been brilliant so far. David Moyes’ team lie on top of Group A with 8 points and a victory will see them progress to the knock out stages of this competition. They are 19/10 with Ladbrokes to win the tie against Leverkusen.

Man Utd Team News:

Moyes will be without his star player Robin van Persie for this tie. The Dutch talisman has failed to overcome a persistent groin injury and was not included in the travelling squad. Phil Jones and Rafael – both of whom have been sidelined due to injury in recent games are fit again for selection but skipper Nemanja Vidic has not traveled.

Man Utd Likely Line-Up:

So, what could be the possible line-up for Manchester United? In the midfield, there is no Carrick or Fellaini (suspended) – will it be Cleverley or Giggs or Anderson could be given a chance? Will Wayne Rooney play as centre-forward or drop deeper to help the midfield?

Prediction: 1-1; Man Utd have won their last 3 matches against Leverkusen in all competitions, but without Van Persie, can they earn the important away victory?
