Daniele De Rossi’s love affair with Roma continues. The veteran midfielder who has now spent 14 years at the Italian club has recently claimed that he has no regrets over snubbing numerous offers to stay at the Giallorossi. Rossi said, “I had to reject some proposals’ biggest in the world. However, only Rome can convey certain feelings. I’m living on a high point ever since I came here.”
“I feel surrounded by the players, coach and strong society. I could not be happier elsewhere. The last year and a half I have confirmed that the project is blossoming despite the early years having some weakness. I was right to be here.”
The 31 year old also expressed his delight as Roma find themselves back in the Champions League after an absence of over 3 years. Rossi might also be involved in tonight’s mouth watering Champions League clash against German giants Bayern Munich.
Manchester United were linked with Rossi for a long period of time before giving up on the player. However Rossi said that when there were offers on the plate, he didn’t make the decision purely based on personal ambition.
The midfield general said, “Not that Roma didn’t have ambition, but I turned down even more ambitious projects. It was not the desire to win the Champions League that made me stay.”
