Glasgow Rangers were linked with a move for John McGinn recently, and Steven Gerrard should do everything to bring him to Ibrox in the summer.

Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic are reportedly keen to sign John McGinn from Hibernian in the summer transfer window.

According to a recent report from The Scottish Sun, Celtic have had a bid of £1.5 million for McGinn turned down by Scottish Premiership rivals Hibernian.

McGinn is one of the best midfielders in the Scottish Premiership and was one of the key players for his side.

The Bhoys are expected to make an improved offer for the 23-year-old who scored five goals and provided six assists in the 2017-18 campaign.

Rangers should make a concrete approach for McGinn. The Gers are well stocked in the central midfield region, but Gerrard will be foolish to pass on the opportunity of signing a class player like McGinn without giving a proper fight.

The Daily Record reported in May that Rangers were keen on McGinn, who Neil Lennon values at around £5 million

It remains to be seen whether Hibernian remain hellbent on their asking price, but Rangers should at least try their luck by making a reasonably good offer.

He will be a cracker of a signing, and would add sufficient depth and quality to the Gers squad.
