Hold your seat belts, Manchester United fans. Are you ready for this?

According to Uruguayan newspaper Ovacion, Edinson Cavani (no need to give transfer background) wants to join Manchester United in the summer. The world class striker is thought to be ‘fed up’ with PSG manager Laurent Blanc, and is keen to join Old Trafford.

For the past one year, French newspapers have extensively reported that Cavani is unhappy with his situation at PSG. He has been forced to play wide to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Cavani wants to play as a number nine and was linked with both Chelsea and Manchester United early this year.

French magazine Le 10 Sport claimed few months back that PSG were planning to make a swap deal for Cavani, with Eden Hazard coming the other way. But with Hazard signing a new contract, such rumours were thrashed in the bin.

The Guardian reported back in April that United were keen to land Cavani and although priorities lie elsewhere for United, a move for the 27-old-striker cannot be ruled out completely.

Cavani was absent during PSG’s presentation of the new shirt which further raises doubt about his future at the Parisien club.

Yesterday, Le 10 sport reported that PSG are not keen to sell Cavani but would allow him to leave, should any potential buyer offer €80m for his services. Spanish media however firmly believe that Cavani will be sold to United, which will pave way for PSG to sign Angel di Maria from Real Madrid.
