According to reputed and trusted Gianluca Di Marzio website, Manchester United star Patrice Evra is set to join Serie A champions Juventus in the coming 48 hours. The news has also been relayed by TMW. It is believed that the fee will be around €2m and the left back will earn €3.5m per year for two seasons at Turin.
the timing of the deal comes to be a surprise as Evra had earlier signed a contract extension of one year at the end of the season. Thus it would inherently mean that United had only activated Evra’s contract extension despite allowing the player to talk with other clubs. It appears to be a smart piece of business by the Old Trafford outfit who would have otherwise had to let the player go for free.
Moreover with United signing Luke Shaw from Southampton for a reported record free, Evra wasn’t likely to have a starting eleven place assured in the coming 2014-15 campaign.
