Mesut Ozil has given his first Arsenal interview to the club’s official website, where he hailed Arsene Wenger as a world-class manager.
The 24-year-old joined the club on a five-year-deal, after Arsenal smashed their transfer record to sign the German international on the transfer deadline day. Ozil reflected on the fact that many players have gone on to establish themselves as superstars under Wenger’s tutelage, which was a driving factor for him while joining the North London club.
Ozil a type of player, who thrives on the faith of his managers and coaches in order to demonstrate his true quality, says he wants to give his best for Arsenal, as he feels the manager has shown enough faith on him.
While the Gunners would be definitely looking to mount a serious challenge for the title this season, Ozil is equally eager to break the silverware hoodoo at his new club. Reflecting on his own style of play, he says he likes to create for others and takes great happiness from it.
