Just like the Champions League, UEFA Europa League semi final draw will also be conducted as four teams, Napoli, Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, Fiorentina and Sevilla will find their opponents on Friday.
Napoli will take on Dnipro as the Italian outfit will play the first leg at home on May 7. The return leg will be played on May 14. Meanwhile, defending champion Sevilla face Fiorentina and the holders will play the first leg at home.
None of the teams who were demoted from the Champions League have made it to the last four of the Europe’s second tier club competition. Holders Sevilla are still fighting to retain the trophy, while they will face tough competition from the other three teams.
The La Liga outfit have never won against the Italian outfit and managed to score only four goals in the four matches against the Serie A side. This is going to be tricky as Sevilla need a stellar performance in order to progress to the final.This stat could please Fiorentina when they take on Unai Emery’s side next month.
Dnipro are making it to the last four of the Europa League for the first time and they also made history for becoming the first team in Ukraine to reach this stage of the competition. They will be looking for an upset against Napoli.
On the other hand, Rafael Benitez’s side are in firm position to win the Europa League. The former Liverpool manager will be hoping to make it to the final of the second tier club competition.
