Liverpool are close to signing Bayern Munich’s highly rated winger Xherdan Shaqiri, according to reliable journalist Gianluca di Marzio.
The Swiss international, who scored a brilliant hat-trick yesterday, has been on Liverpool’s radar for quite sometime now. And it seems like the Reds are determined to sign him, as they make formal approach to sign the class winger.
According to the reports, Shaqiri’s brother-agent is currently in Liverpool to discuss the financial deals, amidst interest from several Italian clubs.
Last month, The Guardian published a story, where they claimed Liverpool are plotting an audacious move for Shaqiri, while early this month Sky Italia journalist Fabrizio Romano, reported that Liverpool had opened talks with Bayern over the possibility of signing the €20m winger.
Liverpool have already signed Rickie Lambert and Emre Can, and reports suggest they are close to signing Belgium striker Origi as well.
Shaqiri will be a top signing for Liverpool. He will not only add the much needed quality that Liverpool need in order to cope with both domestic and European pressure, but could replace the void left by Luis Suarez, who has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona.
