Arsenal 2-0 West Ham
English Premier League
20 March 2010
Arsenal won another match in the EPL and now are top of the table.
They did have to play much of the match with 10 men but held on for the 2-0 victory. It started off well for Arsenal who would take the lead in the 5th minute as Denilson scored. It was a result of great passing and a typical Gunners goal. West Ham would come back and have a chance late in the 1st half.
A foul on Vermaelen in the box resulted in a penalty kick and red card for West Ham United. It was taken by Alessandro Diamanti but saved by Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia. The match would remain at 1-0 until late in the second half when Cesc Fabregas converted a penalty kick in the 83rd minute.
The win puts Arsenal at the top of the table and some pressure on Chelsea and Man United.
