CHESTER 3.40
Hugo Palmer has started firing in the winners since taking over the reigns from Tom Dascombe at Manor House stables, with three of his last five ex-Dascombe horses winning. Success at Chester is important to the owners and EVER GIVEN looks solid in the 6f three-year-old handicap (3.40). He’s nicely drawn in stall 2, won over 7f here on his only previous course visit and also won first-time out last season. Danny Tudhope, whose record on him reads 15112 (3-5) is back on board. The fifth place can be forgiven as he had the worst of the draw behind the now-115-rated Angel Bleu at Pontefract and the second place came by just a neck in a field of 20 at Doncaster when ‘winning’ the race on the far side. He has sufficient early speed to hold his draw position and is likely to prove hard to beat.
Recommendation: Back EVER GIVEN in Chester 2.40
CHESTER JOCKEYS
Having made the case for Danny Tudhope’s mount EVER GIVEN in the 3.40 at Chester (see above) it could be worth siding with the in-form pilot in the Spreadex CHESTER JOCKEYS market (he can be bought at 29).
