Manchester United could be without three players for tonight’s Europa League final against Villarreal at the Stadion Energa Gdansk.
The Red Devils travelled to Poland earlier on Monday with a 26-man squad, including club captain Harry Maguire, who has been sidelined with an ankle injury.
It has already been confirmed that Anthony Martial (fitness) and Phil Jones (knee) have not made the trip, and they are unlikely to feature in the final.
Solskjaer has been optimistic about Maguire’s chances of playing the game, but it appears unlikely that the England international will be deemed fit.
In an open training session on Tuesday, the 28-year-old had a brief watch from the sidelines before heading back down the tunnel.
Solskjaer has a big decision to make over the central defensive partner for Victor Lindelof ahead of tonight’s final against Unai Emery’s side.
Eric Bailly could get the nod over Axel Tuanzebe with his vast experience, and he will be keen to prove a point after missing out four years ago.
The Ivorian did not feature in United’s 2017 Europa League triumph over Ajax after being sent off in the second leg of the semi-final tie against Celta Vigo.
The 27-year-old suffered a minor injury scare in the final training session, but he looked fine after getting some treatment from the medical staff.
United are aiming to end a four-year trophy drought, and it won’t be straightforward as they come against Emery, who has won the competition three times.
Emery guided Sevilla to a hat-trick of Europa League titles. However, his last final with Arsenal ended in a disappointing 4-1 loss to Chelsea.
