Juventus Want Ribery Too

Juventus are ready to scupper Real Madrid’s plans for Franck Ribery by making a summer swoop for him, according to reports in Italy.

The Galacticos have been tipped to land the Frenchman as president Florentino Perez provides another golden goose in the transfer market.

But that move doesn’t appear straightforward, as Leggo.it claims Ribery has been on Juve’s list since Claudio Ranieri was in charge at the club. The Roman saw Ribery as the ideal replacement for Pavel Nedved – a notion which is shared by directors at the club.

The former Marseille man is quoted as saying: “Real Madrid? There are many other clubs interested in me apart from them and I don’t want to exclude any of them. I have not decided yet.”

The attacking midfielder’s Bayern deal expires in 2011, but Juve will not shrink away from making a move for him. Landing him will not be easy though, as the Old Lady would need a massive cash windfall if they are to compete with the bidders from Madrid.

David Silva of Valencia has also been linked with the Old Lady.
