Fulham scored an early goal and held Shakhtar to a draw as they eliminated one of the favorites in the tournament.
The early goal was for Brede Hangeland in the 33rd minute. Shakhtar would respond and tie the match with a 69th minute goal from Jadson but it wouldn’t be enough. They would fail to score any more and be defeated 3-2 on aggregate.
The 2-1 win at Craven Cottage proved to be crucial and Fulham will now move into the round of 16. Shakhtar will be disappointed as they won the UEFA Cup last year and were one of the lead contenders heading into the knockout stage.
