Manchester United are confident of signing Antoine Griezmann at the end of this season.

Independent are reporting that the Old Trafford outfit have been talking to the player’s intermediaries for several months and have already agreed (verbally) on issues like weekly wage and prospective shirt number.

The report claims that Manchester United are likely to break the world transfer record once again in order to sign the Atletico Madrid star. Griezmann is thought to be extremely interested in joining Jose Mourinho’s side and the chance to play with Paul Pogba is an added incentive.

Griezmann has established himself as one of the best players in the world over the last couple of seasons and would be an incredible addition to Manchester United. Alongside Martial, Mkhitaryan and Ibrahimovic, he could form a deadly attacking unit at Old Trafford. The French international has scored 69 goals in 132 appearances for Atletico Madrid since joining them. He was also the top scorer in Euro 2016.

Independent believe that United will need to match Griezmann’s €100m release clause in order to sign him. There is no doubt that the Premier League giants certainly have the financial resources to do that.

Atletico Madrid are aware of Manchester United’s interest in their star forward and are looking to sign Chelsea’s Diego Costa to replace the 25-year-old next season.
