Champions side Barnsley have today completed the double signing of Jonathan Greening and Akos Buzsaky from Nottingham Forest and Portsmouth respectively.

Greening, who’s last of only three appearances for Forest this season was back in August, will arrive at Oakwell until January 2 with the aim of receiving first team football and provide some valuable experience for the struggling Tykes.

Forest manager Sean O’Driscoll believes the move can only benefit the former Manchester United, Middlesbrough, West Brom and Fulham midfielder. Telling Skysports he said:

“Jonathan is a great lad, his attitude is excellent, he trains hard and Barnsley are giving him an opportunity to play on a regular basis.

His opportunities with us have been limited since we signed Adlene Guedioura and Henri Lansbury but every time he has come into the squad he has been first class.”

Barnsley boss Keith Hill told BBC Sport:

“I’m looking for Jonathan to be our handbrake on the enthusiasm we have, someone to control things, to instil an intelligent energy and bring everything together.

He has an abundance of ability, a mentality that is Premier League, it’s not something that you lose.”

Meanwhile Hungarian Buzsaky will join his new team-mates until the end of December. The 30-year-old playmaker only signed for Portsmouth in October but has opted for a move back to the Championship where he applied his trade with Queens Park Rangers before his release this summer.

The duo, who could both make their debuts against Cardiff City on Saturday, follow strikers Marcus Tudgay and Emile Sinclair who moved to Oakwell earlier in the week.
