Queens Park Ranger striker Loic Remy has been the subject of interest for Premier League sides Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United. His asking price is said to be around £5M, but no official bid has been made from either club as of yet.

Remy, a France international, has said he wants to continue playing at the top level for the sake on his international career, and the 26-year old is wanting a new club following Queens Park Rangers’ relegation to the Championship.

Ligue One side Paris Saint-Germain have shown some interest in the striker, who has scored four goals in 18 appearances for the national team.

His debut season at QPR was bittersweet. Despite scoring a relatively impressive six goals in 14 games, he was unable to keep the London side in the Premier League. However, he did show his potentially new employers he has an eye for goal and can perform the unpredictable.

Remy was signed from Marseilles in 2012 for a fee around £10M. As QPR are struggling to sell him due to his high wage demands, they are willing to accept a cut price for the Frenchman.

During his time with Marseilles, the 27-year old scored 28 goals in 74 games between 2010 and 2012.

With one eye on the 2014 World Cup at the end of next season, Remy will want to make the France side, and playing in the Premier League could well put him in contention of a call-up.

Newcastle have had a penchant for signing players based in the French Ligue One of late, and Remy brings vast amounts of experience to the table from his time in his native country. He spent six years as a professional playing for Olympique Lyon, RC Lens, OGC Nice and Olympique Marseilles.

Tottenham have been desperate to sign a striker this summer, and their manager Andres Villas-Boas could be persuaded to take a punt on the £5M-rated player.
