Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has said that Jurgen Klopp is a bit like a father for the players and that is why Liverpool players love to work with him.

Klopp has had a mixed time at Anfield, but Liverpool fans are patient with him. The German needs both time and money to rebuild the squad to his own taste, but he has already won the hearts of the Liverpool fans in such a short time.

His passion towards the game is often reflected in his celebrations. Recently, he enjoyed wild celebrations with his players and broke his glass in the process, after Adam Lallana scored the winner against Norwich City.

Lewandowski, who played under Klopp at Dortmund, recalled a similar incident under the German.

“Once at Dortmund there was exactly the same sort of incident with his glasses,” said Lewandowski as quoted by Liverpool Echo.

“You could see when that final goal went in how emotional he is. I’ve noticed how much the Liverpool players love to work with him.

“I’ve seen one or two games and the reaction shows they are all united.

‘He always stood up for his team and he’s a bit like a father for the players.

“Also, for the Liverpool fans, when they see they’ve got a coach who gives his all they’ll back him. “Klopp is a very good coach. He suits English football.”

Lewandowski won two Bundesliga titles and reached the final of the Champions League at Dortmund before moving to Bayern Munich in 2014.

The Polish striker has been in tremendous form this season, scoring 29 goals in 24 games for Bayern in all competitions.

The 27-year-old striker will be in demand next summer, with several top European clubs are vying for his signature already.

Klopp will probably try to lure the £75m-rated striker in the summer, but Liverpool are expected to face tough competitions from other heavyweight clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid.
