Racing Santander v Real Madrid Preview
Real Madrid head into the on a 11 match winning streak in La Liga and on top of the table by goal difference. Outside of a defeated in the UEFA Champions League to Lyon, Real Madrid has been impressive in the last month with dominating performances in league play.
Racing Santander is in 16th place and six points above the relegation zone. They should be safe for next season but probably need two more wins to guarantee their survival. Their home record is 2-5-7 with only 10 goals scored. Racing is one of the rare teams in La Liga that has a much stronger away record than their home record. They are 1-3-1 in their last five matches.
Real Madrid are out of the Champions League so they will not have to worry about resting players down the stretch. They should have Karim Benzema and Lassana Diarra back from injury but Kaka is likely to be out until the Barcelona match. Gonzalo Higuain is in fantastic form for Real with seven goals in his last four matches.
Real Madrid have been a team on a mission in the last month and should get the three points on Sunday. With Higuain in the form of his career and the always dangerous Cristiano Ronaldo, the Racing defense will not be able to contain them for 90 minutes. It could be scoreless for most of the match but Real Madrid will eventually wear down the Racing defense and break the match open.
Racing Santander v Real Madrid Prediction
