It seems like the transfer window is slowly heating up. With only 11 days left to go, before the window shuts, club all over the world are in a hurry to fine tune their squad as much as possible.
Roma are facing an important battle to keep hold of their star defender Mehdi Benatia. The Moroccan international has been reportedly linked with Premier League clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United, but the 27-year-old might land up in Germany in less than two weeks time.
Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga Champions, have already offered €25m for his services. However, Roma are seeking around €40m but reports in Italy suggest that any middle ground can be reached.
According to the ever reliable GDM, Benatia would gladly accept the opportunity to join Bayern. He is flattered by the approach made by Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and would be ready to pack his suitcase, should the deal be done.
The report claim Roma officials are bracing themselves up for such a possibility and they are flying to London to secure a move for Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic or Tottenham’s Vlad Chiriches.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho claimed publicly that the Londoners are not interested in signing Benatia while United’s interest have cooled down as well. The Red Devils have signed Marcos Rojo from Sporting but they may need one more quality centre-back before the window closes.
Should Manchester United make an attempt to sign Mehdi Benatia?
