Manchester United and Bayern Munich last week had made contacts with Serie A giant Roma over the possible transfer of defender Mehdi Benatia.
The highly rated Moroccan defender has set his heart out on leaving the club and was not included in Roma’s last friendly match.
The player was accused of being selfish and not showing to the team but probably they have realised it’s high time to cash in on the player.
According to reports from CDS, the transfer of Mehdi Benatia could take place on Monday.
Roma are asking for a fee in the region of €30m plus add-ons. So far they have yet to receive any formals offers from German giants Bayern Munich.
CDS reckon that the next 24 hours is very vital as Roma are expecting a formal offer for the defender.
Once the deal is completed, Roma will try to sign Greek defender Kostas Manolas, who has been a reported target of Premier League giants Arsenal.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United put up a late and surprise move for Benatia or not. At this moment, all attention has been shifted towards signing Angel di Maria, so if Bayern move quickly, they might seal the deal for Benatia.
