Liverpool have made an official bid for Bayern Munich’s attacking midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri. The highly rated Swiss internationalĀ was heavily linked with a move to Anfield last summer, but the deal didn’t materialise then. According to Sky Italia, Liverpool have made an offer to Bayern to sign Shaqiri on a permanent deal, while Juventus and Inter want him on loan.
The 23-year-old has struggled to cement regularĀ starting places in the star studded Bayern Munich squad under Pep Guardiola and has been mostly used as a sub. For a player of his calibre, he deserves to play regularly at a top club and even he knows that.
Bayern will be more than happy to do any deals with clubs that want him on a permanent basis. Therefore, Liverpool have a great chance here in signing one of the vastly talented forwards who would genuinely improve the first team.
Liverpool at this moment may not need to invest on an attacking forward, rather the dosh could be used on signing a defensive midfielder or a goal keeper. Then again, there’s always a room for potential world class players in any team and it will foolish of LiverpoolĀ to pass on this good opportunity to sign him.
