Manchester United’s lack of creativity in midfield has been somewhat sorted by the introduction of Juan Mata, but David Moyes is believed to still be in the market for an energetic box-to-box player to take the side forward.
The Scottish manager was sighted in Germany watching a Bayern Munich game earlier in the week, and was thought to have sat beside the agent of Toni Kroos ā sparking rumblings that the Germany international could be on his way to Old Trafford.
The Allianz Arena star has been heavily linked with the Premier League champions this week, and a reaction in the Bundesliga sideās 2-1 win at Stuttgart on Wednesday night could be encouraging for Red Devilsā fans.
Kroos started the game at the Mercedes Benz Arena, but with the European champions in need of a goal after falling 1-0 behind, he was substituted on the hour mark and replaced by striker Mario Mandzukic.
As Kroos walked from the pitch, he petulantly took off his gloves and threw them in the direction of the Bayern bench in an act of petulance.
Pep Guardiola admitted that the number 39 had a future at the Allianz Arena but could well leave also.
āHe is an important player but things can move fast in football. Here today, gone tomorrow,ā the former Barcelona boss admitted.
The Daily Mail have led with a story suggesting that Kroos could well be on the move, and that a bid of around Ā£25million would be needed from the Old Trafford outfit to pry the German away from his homeland.
The British tabloid also state that Kroos would demand wages in the region of Ā£150,000 a week to move to England.
The 24-year-old is out of contract in the summer of 2015 and as such there is every chance that Bayern may well look to cash in on the star.
With a frantic transfer deadline day in the offing, keep a close eye on Kroos and a potential switch to Manchester.
