The agent of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen has hinted at a possible move for his player after reported interest from Italian outfit Juventus.
Martin Schoots, Eriksen’s agent, has left the door wide open for the Denmark international for a summer transfer to the Turin giants, but refused to specifically comment on the Bianconeri’s interest.
“I never speak about specific clubs,” Schoots was quoted as saying by The Times.
“But we know that very big clubs were after Christian since he was 14 years old.”
He has insisted Eriksen is happy at his current club Tottenham at the moment, but hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a move away from White Hart Lane, pointing to the unpredictability in the game.
“Christian is now happy to be at Spurs, but you never know what happens tomorrow,” he added.
Eriksen is an integral member of Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs side, and provided an assist to Eric Dier in their 2-2 draw with Stoke City at the weekend.
Schoots’ comments are likely to drive up interest from Juventus, who have been after a creative midfielder throughout the summer and have so far failed to land their preferred playmaker targets, which also include German international Julian Draxler.
With the summer departures of Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Carlos Tevez, the Italian champions are in the look out for creative players, and Eriksen fits their needs perfectly.
Although it is highly unlikely Tottenham will let go their star man in the closing stages of the transfer window with no ready-made replacements available.
