Chelsea Transfer News: Oscar reveals his move to China is 90% done

Chelsea midfielder, Oscar, has revealed that he is almost certain to leave the London giants in the January transfer window.

Chinese Super League side, Shanghai SIPG, have made a formal £60m bid for the Brazilian midfielder, who has dropped down the pecking order at Chelsea under Antonio Conte.

It’s 90% certain. It just depends on some bureaucratic details,” said Oscar, while taking to Brazilian media. Several media outlets in England, including the Telegraph and the Guardian, have given confirmation about the bid, but the apparent confirmation from the player himself makes the transfer all but official.

However, according to several reports, Oscar is yet to inform Conte about his decision to leave Stamford Bridge. He and his agent are likely to hold talks with the Chelsea manager on Thursday. Conte revealed last month that Oscar was part of his long-term plans, and therefore the Italian could still ask the club to prevent the transfer from going through.

Meanwhile, according to reports from Sky Sports, Oscar is rather willing to stay at the club and fight for his place. Chelsea would be looking to invest the full £60m received from Oscar’s potential sale in signing new players next month.

Conte wants to sign a top centre-back in January, while the former Juventus boss may also target a full-back. Also, Oscar’s departure would leave space for a new midfielder to arrive from the market.
